Spam
I don’t understand how people can put spam on my server. Well, I understand how, but I don’t understand why.
I mean, the advertising they put up on the comments is very spam-like: penis enlargment, breast enlargment, viagra. And I’m pretty sure that anyone that visits this website is not very interested in that sort of thing. Well, I dunno, maybe I should ask Jimmy?
Regardless of what they are advertising, its always something sleezy and it’s always in such a sleezy marketing style. It makes me sick. Specially so because this isn’t being hosted on a 3rd party server, but rather my own! It’s like people coming up to my real house and putting advertising for viagra on my lawn. Do people in the real world do this? No! Then why would someone do that on the internet? Is it really that much more effective for them? What do they win for putting an ad on a site that is rarely visited - but that for some reason can be found on google cache. Sigh.
And what I really wanted to say: I’m starting to ban IP’s. So I hope that I don’t ban someone that isn’t a spammer on a dynamic IP.

MT-Blacklist (a MovableType plugin) works wonders for comment spam. At least it did for my blog. It's a bit less draconian than IP banning, too.

Hey! I DO read your blog... like once a month and I back up to where I last read... so pick another penis-challenged man to make fun of!
