And we’re back on… For 5 minutes…

It’s been almost a month since my last post, and since my server has been running for longer then 5 minutes. When I recently moved into our new place and set all my computers up, my server started dying on me at least once a day. Now, it’s currently in the closet, underneath my file server, so if it’s most likely dying because of heat exhaustion. Though it could also be possible that I’m being attacked, I’ve set my router to send all incoming traffic to the fedora box and it’s not running a firewall. Hopefully I’ll have some time over the week to examine it a little better. I’ll work first on changing some router settings before opening the beast up and seeing what I can do.

Either way, I’m having issues with fedora core 1. I’ve seen recent articles on other alternate distros like slackware with in depth how-to’s. Though I do like the easy of use of fedora. I’m going to play "wait and see" for fedora core 3 and go from there.

I just hope I can keep this damn box up longer then 24 hours for once!
